YE OLDE PORK PIE SHOPPE AND A CALL TO ARMS OF A KIND
'To Arms!-To Arms! the drums across hill and vale resound! Calling the people of old Melton Mowbray town to rally round; To gather to a cause that is both just and true, Towards a triumphant end that with strength of purpose will see them through.
This day ten thousand hearts of oak stand proud upon this English field, For to an inferior rival and pretender from a true course their spirit will not yield;
This day ten thousand goodly people with pen on parchment have made their mark, To decree that with honour this succulant pie, a victory banner will carry along with its made in Melton Mowbray trademark.
Ten thousand bells across this green and pleasant land loudly ring, To proclaim that to this green shire's culinary delights, a Melton Mowbray pork pie is king.
