ROSIE'S WINDOWSILL

This is my windowsill,
This windowsill is mine;
It was put here especially
for me.
The dog across the way-
I gaze at with indifference;
I am quite happy sitting
here-
Because I am superior.

POPPY'S PING-PONG
                 Rosie

From a watercolour by Brian Hollingshead.

 Poppy plays ping-pong
all about the house,
upstairs and downstairs
she thinks she's chasing a mouse.

In and out the kitchen,
down a flight of stairs,
Poppy plays ping-pong
under all the chairs.

If you want the best seat in the house,- you will have to move the cat!

BIRDS

I chase the birds
but cannot fly;
Or soar on thermals
in a summer's sky-
or perch on lofty
branches in a tree;
I am quite content
sitting here being me.

It is below my dignity
to fly anyway!
